December 28, 2007: A Man Kneeling in Front of a Zevs Piece on La Brea

I think this Zevs installation is my favorite piece of streetart in 2007. It's smart and well-executed-- and the anti-corporate message contrasts perfectly with all the advertising signage nearby. This year was pretty disappointing for street art-- as I've said a few times, I'm starting to feel like the global movement peaked some time in early 2006, and we're due for a long spell of dull graffiti. But pieces like this one give me some hope that 2008 might be a better year.
