Outside a Garage in Red Hook

This is one of the saddest and most beautiful walls I've ever seen. It's not graffiti, exactly. It seems like all the guys who work at this car shop have been writing on the wall for a few years-- signing their names, making stupid jokes, writing messages to their girlfriends. I'm guessing most of them are immigrants, and in a city where most of them go unnoticed, this is a small way of asserting their identity.

graffiti, immigrants, sunsetpark, tires, white, writing
