April 15, 2008: Tony's Hardware

I've taken this same picture about a hundred times. Person walking in front of building, 24mm lens, slight bit of sky and street. Two years ago Eliot told me that it was "hitting the snooze button" for him-- but I can't shake it. Maybe the pictures we take reveal some hidden contour of our minds-- some essential quality that we can't otherwise describe. I'm not sure-- maybe it's pathological-- but my eye returns to this same shape again and again.
Related: another frequent trope from the same day (lonely building under menacing sky.)
you should spend some time in the woods...might be good for you.
its called comfort zone!
you know that by doing all of the above you will get a good image.
