September 3, 2008: Looking South on Lafayette

My friends Nick and Arthi had their wedding reception at a cool white-box loft on West 4th Street-- the kind of place with polished concrete floors and big industrial windows. Karen was overseas, so after a few hours I got a little stir-crazy and decided to go up and explore the roof, which turned out to have a great view of Noho.
Unrelated: a powerplant in Queens on a sunny day.

Great contrast between the light on the streets and the dark rooftops.
Lovely night scene from the rooftop.

I'm always struck by how beautiful older buildings are on the top. At street level all you see are those horrible anodized aluminum panels and modular windows. Great photo!
Lovely shot. Limited edition print of this would be a great idea...
I am photography junkie/pleasure shooter and I've been a fan of yours for years.
What kind of settings did you use in this one to get such awesome glow and haunting sky? You have mastered this skill and it gives me chills every time you post something with this incredible (and somewhat eerie) glow. Your work never disappoints!
Very pretty Image
