Manhattan Powerhouse

Here's another powerhouse, on a different railroad line from the one in the last post. This one was larger and much more run down-- giant holes in the roof and walls, side rooms and basement filled with trash. Unlike the one in Manhattan, this powerhouse also showed some signs of habitation: children's toys, scraps of clothing, and empty food containers.

Really Nice Picture. I am always fasinated by old machinery and this one is a grandaddy!

What were the lighting conditions for this shot? Was this taken on a tripod or were there some decent windows?

I love the colors in the second photo. And the dreariness of the bottom one is so sad. Children's toys - very sad.

Look’s like at old DC substation for the subway. Where is this in the Bronx?
