God- the immensity of the East Village- the gigantic, unimaginable vastness of it! How many blocks have I walked in my idiotic pursuit of this project? It's fourteen blocks from Houston up to 14th Street. It's seven long blocks between Bowery and Avenue D. So that's 28 short blocks and 98 long blocks- not counting the ones I accidently walked twice. How many miles is that? Fifteen? Twenty? I feel like I've been walking for two weeks.
I can't wait until you get to the Upper East Side and have to walk a ridiculous distance without anything good to shoot.
I've been mulling the idea of walking every block in Brooklyn, but it's completely insane.

This project is a Sisyphean task, but at least you're occupied until you go to L.A.

I have to admire you for lugging that tripod all over in the middle of the night, Jake. And I agree with Mike... the East Side and West Side are the true endless deserts of interesting photos, by and large.
Ooooh... another Starbucks.... and some ugly white-brick buildings from the '60s.
