The southern part of Red Hook is much changed from a year ago. Everything west of Beard Street has been flattened, and the first few stories of the new Ikea have begun rise. Van Brunt is now packed with cars driving to Fairway; it has actually become so popular that it has become dangerous to bike in the few blocks around the store. I was in the neighborhood yesterday to see Nate Kensinger screen his "Covered Tracks" documentary at BWAC -- afterwards I went upstairs and shot the last Revere buildings, reflecting the setting sun.
Holy Shit it seems like yesterday.
